Message for Teachers Minimize

Hello Teachers;

Thank you for taking your time to assess DENIAL®. Many teachers ,principals and curriculum consultants have had an opportunity to examine,assess and grade DENIAL©. DENIAL is designed to open the door of communication to students about tobacco, alcohol, marijuana and other substances. A board game format was utilised to hold a student's attention. Colourful graphics were used to make the design youth friendly. Choices and Consequences were employed to give the students information about the 4 main subjects and to give scenarios for them to discuss. The students were empowered to discuss situations, weigh their consequences and arrive at healthy solution in a classroom safe enviroment.

If I commence experimenting at 14 or younger I stand a very good chance of developing a substance abuse problem by the time I am 20;whereas, if I can delay experimenting until I am 16 or 17, I stand a very good chance of not having a substance abuse problem by the time I am 20. It is commonplace for students in Grade 7 and 8 to know who is offering a joint for sale. Some students are mixing alcohol(a depressant) with marijuana(a mood altering drug) and the results can be very damaging when the brain is still forming. The marijuana of today is often 5 times stronger than the "Woodstock" generation.

Learning, earning and yearning takes on a whole new meaning when a student doesn't finish school and is restricted to dead-end jobs with little promise.
